Choosing the right bed for your child doesn’t have to be overwhelming. The right size means better sleep, a safer room, and a space your child will actually love. Here’s everything you need to know.
Think About Age & Stage
Every child is different, but age is a great starting point:
- Babies & toddlers (0–3 years): Floor beds or low-profile beds are the safest choice. They support independence and eliminate fall risks.
- Growing kids (3–8 years): A standard single gives plenty of room to grow without overwhelming a smaller bedroom.
- Older kids (8+ years): Consider a king single for extra legroom — they’ll thank you for it in a few years.
Measure Your Room First
Before you fall in love with a bed, measure the room. Aim to leave at least 60–90 cm of clear space on at least two sides. This keeps the room feeling open and makes changing sheets much easier.
